Admiral Homespace wins Retailer of the Year

Cambridgeshire based Admiral Homespace was awarded the accolade ‘Retailer of the Year’ in the 2009 Huntingdonshire Business Awards on Friday evening at a gala dinner hosted by Archant Newspapers.

The compere for the evening Stewart White of BBC Look East fame, is a regular presenter for the annual awards now in their thirteenth year. Steve Thorogood the Managing Director of Admiral thanked Stewart and the sponsors on behalf of his team and was delighted when Stewart remembered that it is the second time that Admiral have won the award, the first being in 2003.

Admiral Homespace cover Cambs, Beds, Northants and Hertfordshire designing and installing home improvements such as windows, doors, loft conversions and flat roofing as well as conservatories.

The judges were impressed with Admirals ability to increase sales during the current recession and diversify into new products whilst maintaining high levels of customer and staff satisfaction.

The company is at the forefront of its industry in terms of recognising trends such as the shift to timber windows from PVC double glazing. Spotting such trends is made possible through careful monitoring of customer requirements. Another example in their switch of product offer is noting the desire for orangery style conservatories and garden rooms as opposed to the traditional Victorian style conservatories.

On being interviewed by the newspapers for the award Admiral commented:

‘Good reputation is even more important in times of economic uncertainty. Clients are more interested in companies that can display stability and reputation and this award will help us show that Admiral is a safe choice to improve their living space.’
