One of our favoured materials for Bi-Fold doors is aluminium. Why? Well the frames are strong enough to cope with the weight of the double glazed units whether in 6mm laminated or 4mm toughened glass. When you want to avoid a bolder outline, the sharp edged minimalist look of aluminium is perfect for many building projects and extensions as it can be specified with incredibly slim frames and large areas. We don’t sell plastic bi-fold doors as we feel that it’s not the right material to carry so much weight.
