Before we transformed this tired old conservatory

At some point the owners of this nice property decided it would be a good idea to build a basic lean to conservatory on the rear. Not much thought went into the design and the glazing and roof were of a very low specification meaning it was only used during the summer months. By the time we were asked to refurbish it was more or less used as a ‘junk room’ that was so full that it was ignored as a living space. See the next article for the transformation. Read More

Ten Years After

Ten years on from building this well loved conservatory the clients contacted us to ‘freshen up’ the room. They wanted to change the roof from polycarbonate to high spec glazing for warmth and to reduce glare and heat build up in the summer. We added a front cornice gutter just to restyle the room. Here’s to the next ten years! … Read More

A fine view of the garden

Winter is drawing in, so we thought we would show a soothing summery scene of this garden as most of us close our doors on the outside landscape for the season. An expanded view of the garden is such a lovely addition. Why not start planning your own garden room for the spring? If it needs planning permission or building regulation approval you will need to start the ball rolling before January to be sure of a spring build programme. Do talk to us for free advice and friendly yet in-depth knowledge. Read More

Orangery Style Fully Glazed Conservatory

This client was very specific with their design requirements. They wanted a conservatory with fully glazed roof to ground panels but did not want it to ‘look like a conservatory’. They have seen Orangeries and Conservatories in traditional and contemporary styles and adopted ideas from both for their glazed extension. For a change, our designer was led by the client and along with our build team they achieved a very pleasant end result. Read More

Fancy a swim?

This is a glimpse of a major refurbishment just completed in Bedfordshire. The client owns a beautiful property complete with a swimming pool and leisure area. The rooms were starting to look a little tired and changing rooms were where showers needed to be. There was also a lack of storage space. We were contracted to refurbish the entire area including the replacement of gable windows and full length bi-folding doors in special blue finish aluminium as well as some external landscaping. The project took six weeks from start to finish, just in time to host a surprise birthday party. The clients were absolutely delighted with the end result as can be seen from their letter in our testimonials section. Read More

Conservation Windows

Conservation areas will normally require timber for windows and doors. There can be very specific requirements regarding specification, frame dimensions and even colour of paint finishes. We are pleased to be able to complete to the most discerning requirements in all of these respects. This project called for slimmer sliding sash sections, special glazing and even a Farrow and Ball colour match. The sash windows are for an old rectory. The client, the conservation officer and Admiral are very pleased with the finished result. Read More

Cambridge properties are so varied in age and design

Cambridge being on the doorstep, we do get involved in some interesting properties. We always try our best to match customer requirements with the age and style of the property. This client was specific in his requirement for Aluminium windows, which is a challenge in a Tudor style home. We think the end result is very pleasing to the eye. Care at the design stage is so important. Read More

Garden Room with traditional Sash Windows

Sliding Sash Windows combined with a tiled roof make this room a real rarity. A mini steel portal frame was required to support the weight of the tiles above as the requirement was for no brick pillars. This can be achieved on our Conservatories or Orangeries too with the guidance of our structural engineer. Read More
