Ex-Hunts Glass staff Join Admiral
When one door (or window) closes…
Having spent almost fourteen years with the same local company, Julian Hale was understandably “gutted” when Hunts Glass LLP went into administration in December 2007.
Not only had he lost a job that he enjoyed, he took great pride in offering his personal approval and assistance with every conservatory and window installation the company carried out.
“The company changed ownership some five years ago and if I am honest, things were never the same once the original owner departed” states Julian. “I felt that I had let people down and had determined to leave the industry and try something completely different”. That is when he had a call from Steve Thorogood MD of Admiral Homespace based at Alconbury, Cambridge.
The two companies had enjoyed a friendly rivalry for many years, so there existed a healthy respect for each other. So much so, that Steve offered Julian and the three main fitters of Hunts Glass a job more or less on the spot.
Steve comments: “Hunts Glass were a good company…which goes to show that its not only the bad guys that fail ! Julian has brought us a completely new perspective since joining in January… this can only continue to add to our effectiveness over the coming years”.
According to Steve, the fitters Dave Jack and Barry who served Hunts Glass for almost as long are absolutely top notch and amongst the best he has seen in the industry.
Julian has already contacted his old clients to assure them that he is still around to assist with any remedials or issues surrounding their conservatories and windows …albeit under the Admiral banner.
