Admiral Homespace have been at the forefront of the real conservatory market since 1989. The company were the first nationally to liaise with building control in order to have the rooms recognised as a proper extension to the home, allowing open plan conservatory living using the latest technology in glazing and environmental controls.
The company is very well equipped to know how trends have developed and how the conservatory sector has developed according to customer needs and wants.
Many Clients now want:
- A room flooded with natural light
- A different environment to all other rooms in the home
- High insulation
- Good security
- More solid feel
- Larger areas of brick wall
- Proper thermostatically controlled heating
- Open plan rooms (Often leading from the kitchen)
- Low maintenance
- Bifold or large sliding doors
- Coloured window and door frames
- Maximum views
Traditional home extensions do not cover these needs as they are often dark with no light coming from above and feel small due to the lack of glazed areas.
Conservatories do not either as they often feel like a temporary extension with a lightweight feel and fairly predictable design options
This has led to a demand for Orangery Style rooms.
These buildings have a much more solid feel employing part solid/part glazed roofing and much more brick to the side walls.
It is common to be asked for a contemporary Orangery design incorporating Bi Folding doors and coloured aluminium frames
High net worth purchasers in particular are looking for glass and brick structures that look different to the rest of the house and surrounding properties.
In a world where so many things are the same individuality will be sought and braver designs considered for so called ‘Lifestyle Rooms’.
We believe that Glass Box meets these needs perfectly …….
Glass Box is a totally bespoke glazed extension of contemporary design.
It combines the solid build and feel of a traditional brick built extension with huge areas of light and view…..
The glass rooms are totally customisable for each client. They can choose between Aluminium PVC or Timber for the windows and doors. The roof lights can be pitched flat or lantern styled. The side and front elevations can accommodate huge areas of glazing thanks to the solid box construction of the room.
The room is definitely contemporary and the room caters for all the requirements of the conservatory lifestyle requested today.
- Solid feel
- More View
- Lots of light especially from above
- Large expanses of opening
- A link to the garden
- Big enough for a multitude of uses
- Warm in Winter
- Cool in Summer
- Low maintenance
- High security
Hopefully the following will help to determine if GlassBox is a serious consideration for you:
FAQs
Looks nice but what does it all cost?
The million dollar question (well hopefully not that much!)
This of course depends upon size and just how fancy you want the spec to be, but a ball park figure would be somewhere around £3000 plus vat per square metre.
5 metres by 4 metres therefore around £60,000 plus VAT.
Then there are floor coverings heating furniture to consider.
Bigger rooms tend to offer the best value per build.
What about planning permission?
If it is required, we will handle that for you
Do these rooms require building regulation approval?
Yes, without exception and we will ensure that you have all the paperwork for end to end certification
Do I need an Architect?
Not at all, we will assist with every aspect of design
How much input can I have into the design of my GlassBox?
The whole concept is for you to have a unique totally bespoke room. If its possible to do then we will try our best to accommodate your personality and wishes into your new room
ill I need to be a contract manager for your trades people?
This happens a lot with normal builders. We are different in as much that you will have your own appointed contracts manager supplied to you by Admiral. He will be your point of contact for all aspects of the build.
What colour options are there?
GlassBox frames and claddings are offered in literally any RAL colour to suit you
Do you use outside contractors to build these extensions?
The building works are carried out by Admiral staff as is the glazing. Internal finishes are carried out by our regular tradespeople. We have appointed electricians plumbers roofers and tilers that have been working with us for many years.
Is the work guaranteed?
GlassBox is covered by a Ten Year Warranty unlike alternative home extensions
How long does the work usually take?
Once approvals are granted and we start on site you should allow around six weeks for the major build and another month or so for internal finishing. This includes for any drying out times required to finish internally. These are rough timescales and we are happy to specify the expectations for your particular room once we have the required specification.

to about 70% satisfaction. The installers were contracter’s that had no commitment to what they were doing and it showed. We needed a new set of patio doors, thinking here
we go again going to get another job done that I know I won’t be overall happy with. I passed Admiral Homespace by chance, popped in had a chat with one of the sales team
who was not a cheesy sales guy in fact nice and pleasant to talk with (good start). We arranged a site visit he came over I explained what I was after which was to limit the
amount of surround and centre join of the doors he offered me a new to the market product that gave a centre join of 20mm and minimal surround. To cut a long story short,
bought the product it has been fitted by an excellent team who are employed with the company so have vested interest in doing a good job which they did. overall from sales
to surveying to organising and fitting the whole team are excellent very professional and actually care, the fitters Andy & Wayne look genuinely pleased with the doors and the
fact I was so pleased. I would highly recommend them looking to get new windows fitted so am going back to them. Happy to pass on pictures to them to forward to potential
customers’

a very helpful sales process. We were able to move at a comfortable pace, arriving at the final solution, in a timely but very professional manner. All trades conducted themselves
in a very professional manner, on time and as described. Even late changes were accommodated without issue, we would have no hesitation in recommending Admiral and their
comprehensive professional approach throughout

Admiral installed our doors and windows in 2012. In 2026 our front door lock broke and the manufacturer didn't make them anymore nor had any spare parts !
Nadine and Andy road to our rescue. Andy researched a potential fix, Nadine ordered the parts and Andy promptly repaired our lock mechanism and then installed it back in the door.
Absolutely super service and support - even years after our initial install!
Admiral Homespace care for their customers !

and professionally and customer service is really important to me, particularly when I'm making a substantial purchase. I had a slight issue with the lock on my door and an engineer visit was arranged quickly and efficiently. The matter was resolved in a few minutes with a few adjustments. Very happy with the service.’

Installation went well and we are very happy with the result.
I'd definitely recommend Admiral Homespace to anyone looking for custom, handmade windows & doors for their project.
