Installation of the Month

The end of Polycarbonate Roofs ?

As seen here on this months selected installation, glass looks great in a conservatory roof. Ten years ago glass was specified for only 30% of our new buildings. The very latest figures show a preference for glass to be 97%. It would appear that days are numbered for polycarbonate as a roofing material. Our Conservatory Refurbishment and Re-Roofing Division is carrying out lots of work changing existing roofs to both glass and light weight tiled structures with internal plastered ceilings. We moved their pond, re-sited a cattery and landscaped the garden to include walls and a major new patio. We love that they chose sliding sash windows for the garden room. Read More

A Conservatory make-over with full regulation approval

When Mr & Mrs C moved into their home, it came with a timber Victorian style conservatory that was a little too small. They called us in several years ago to extend the room by adding a lean to end and changing all the frames and roof. Over the last hot summer they were frustrated at not being able to use the space to its full potential as it was uncomfortably hot inside. They were approached by a local company who retro fit lightweight tiled roofs but felt uneasy at the dubious ‘advice’ given. This prompted them to ask us if we would consider taking on the project. Coincidentally this was at a point where we were negotiating with building control over an installation approval method for such work. Mr C was told by the other firm that… Read More
